Amanda Sanders

Field team lead

Amanda joined the Te Manahuni Aoraki project in 2025.

In this role, she supports the ranger team by helping them stay focused on their work – removing roadblocks, supporting the project goals, and making sure everything runs smoothly on the ground.

She brings a strong background in outdoor instruction, adventure tourism, and biodiversity monitoring, along with several years experience on a range of conservation projects with the Department of Conservation.

With recent qualifications in communication and environmental management, Amanda is excited to be part of a team working to protect the environment at a landscape scale. She’s also looking forward to spending time in the tussocklands and mountain landscapes of the Mackenzie Country – both on the job and in her downtime.
